What fertility testing is done first?
My husband and I have been trying to conceive for around 2 years now and we have a fertility consultation with our GP on Monday. Does anyone know what tests will be done first after the consultation appointment?
Any help much appreciated!
Thanks!
P.S. I had a blood test done for pregnancy up at my doctors on 3rd May after intercourse when ovulating 19th April. However, my period wasn't due until yesterday (5th). It came back negative but I still haven't started - could the result have been inaccurate due to the time it was taken?
Thank you!

I didn’t have trouble getting pregnant, but I was unable to stay pregnant. I’ve had 4 miscarriages. The first thing I had was a progesterone test around the time of ovulation. Mine was low, so I was told I would need progesterone replacement for the first trimester in order to stay pregnant. I have a luteal phase defect. There are various “types”/severity of it, so you may want to look at that. It is possible to become pregnant but miscarry every time before your period because of hormone levels not being sufficient. If the hormonal tests (blood work) comes back ok, then the least invasive is probably a check of his sperm. The female body is much more complicated than a mans, and “harder” to fix. It could be him. A simple analysis of the sperm would give you an answer.
