is there a different type of blood test to check pregnancy?
do routine blood tests at the hospital automatically check a woman's Hcg level for pregnancy? or do you have to request a special blood pregnancy test if you want to find out if you are pregnant or not?

They have to specifically check for hcg.
Pregnancy tests are not done routinely. The test needs to be ordered.
routine blood tests do not look for pregnany. thats why they ask you “is there a chance of pregnancy” then they will test if there is. you need to request it if you wanna know
No, you have to tell them to check for it. They will ask you what you are coming in for today and you say a pregnancy test.
You have to request the pregnancy blood test. It is not routine to check for the hormone levels.
Every blood test screens for different things.
