Has anyone heard of getting a blood pregnancy test to test for something else other than pregnancy?
I have a history of irregular periods. Two months ago I got a pelvic ultrasound, found out my uterus was over thick and started on birth control and they did a blood test. Wasn't pregnant but I was anemic. Went for a repeat ultrasound, uterus was thick in some spots and not in others. They said stay on the pills and now sending me for a blood pregnancy test.
Why test for pregnancy when it's been negative at least twice? And what are they looking for?

I have heard of using a blood pregnancy test being used for testing for something else but as related to men to see if they have testicular cancer, but I don’t know how true that is.
I would recommend asking your doctor as well for further clarification on why they were running the test since it was negative for pregnancy.
