Can I get some sort of fertility test even though I have been trying for less than 6 months?

Me and my fiance are going to start trying for a baby, I'm going to get ovulation testing kits and have sex every other day but I just have a feeling that i may not be fertile, there is a history of endimetriosis in my family. Is there a fertility test they can do for me? and where would I go for this?

I believe the way it goes is – get married first

boots do an egg reserve test. this checks to see if you have enough helathy eggs reserved to ovulate, the ovulation test kits will also tell you if you are ovulating. buy them from access diagnostics not ebay. these only work for some people. i found one month they worked and the next they didnt.
if after 6 months of trying go see ya gp. you may also need to get a sperm test for your man. after all tests it turned out my fella had NO SPERM

Talk to your doctor – it never hurts for the both of you to get a basic check up, make sure that you are both healthy and discuss that you are trying to conceive. Your doctor will probably ask you about your cycles, history of endo etc . . . and figure out what is the best recommendation for you.

If your cycles are normal then they will probably recommend that you take pre-natal vitamins (you should take them now if you are trying) and keep trying for another 6 months . . . then return to the doctor to discuss it further. If your periods are irregular, severe cramping, very heavy etc . . . then they may do some testing now.

Good luck and loads of baby dust to you!

Wow, that was rude Martha.

Anyway, more than likely they won’t do it. Some (very few) drs will do it at 6 months, others make you wait a year (most do this).

However, with the history of endo, the dr might be more likely to do some early testing if you can find the right one. You need to start with your OBGYN…if he won’t do it..find one that will.

Good luck to you on the wedding and ttc!

My doctor said he would begin testing whenever we wanted to. He said that some choose to wait the year, it usually is not the doctor’s idea. We went in at 6 months for testing. Showed nothing….now at a year, still no baby!

If you are 35 and older and have been trying for 6 months see a specialist, if you are younger and have been trying for at least 1 year go see a specialist. I think you two should defin. see a fertility specialist! Please DO NOT WAIT! My boyfriend and I have been trying for 1-2 years and that’s when I knew something was wrong.
I found out that I had PCOS and his sperm was slow, so we are on our 2nd cycle of Clomid and IUI which is the cheaper way to go then IVF. IUI and Clomid is what Jon and Kate Plus 8 used when she found out she had PCOS
Here is a refferal to 2 great specialists:
Dr. Collin Smikle and Dr. Lee Kao they are partners at Laurel Fertility Care. Their website is http://www.laurelivf.com
They both have graduated from top teir schools like YALE

I know you don’t want to but it looks like you will need a higher potency of semen specimen. I have a high rate. I can help you conceive a child if you’d like. It’ll be a tough decision but make sure to take you time to answer back.

You don’t say how old you are. 6-1 year is the average time for pregnancy in someone in their 20′s. Don’t worry. I am 39 and have been trying for 3 years-my situation is far more serious. Relax.
But if time is important to you-go to your OBGYN and tell them you want to check out your fertility. I think you would know if you had endometrius yourself.
