After using the fertility monitor how long does it take to get a positive on a pregnancy test?

1

We have been TTC for 6 months and started using the fertility monitor this month and did the baby dance on my high and peak fertility days, how long should i wait to take a pregnancy test? Also how long after you ovulate do you start your menstrual again? I barely hit peak on day 26, now its day 28 and i am wondering when i should start my period...

Good job on doing the baby dance on your high and peak fertility days. You did good, that’s the best you can do!! The fertility monitor should tell you when you should be expecting your next period or a positive pregnancy test. You should start your period if you did not conceive, within 12-14 days after the day of ovulation. So wait at least 12-14 days before you start testing. If you get a negative result after your period is late, don’t get too discouraged. It can take some time for the hpt to detect hCG in your urine. It all depends on how much you’re producing and how fast you’re producing it. It can take up to 2 wks (sometimes longer) for the hpt to pick it up. If you miss and keep getting negative, it’s possible you tested too soon. Some women can actually get a positive 9 or 10 days after ovulation. It really just depends on the amount of hCG you’re producing. You can always go to the Dr. and get a blood test done. They are very accurate and much more sensitive. They can detect hCG before an hpt can. Good luck to you and here’s all the baby dust in the world for you!!!
